Ok. so I have 3 tattoos I really want to get done.
I want a cross with a heart over it on the side of my hand. (by my thumb, but not the bone, the fleshier part.)
I want a pair of smallish angel wings, my fathers name, and I love you in his handwriting on my right shoulder area,
and breathe in, exhale somewhere else, I think my foot.
It’d be:
Breathe in
Exhale
anyways, I want to get my hand tattoo done first, I just have general questions.
1. I know everyone is different, but what type of pain is it? is it like a helix piercing or something, or a throbbing? I’m guessing a stabbing pain?
2. How long would a hand tattoo generally last. Please don’t lecture me about the placement, if I want it, I’m going to get it. I’ve wanted this tattoo for years. Will I have to deal with fading?
3. How much will a ring sized (roughly) tattoo with some color cost? (in general)
4. How long do you think it will take?
Thanks! Sorry this is so badly formatted, my brain’s all over the place
I have a small pink star on my hand where you want your cross.
1. It was more a stingy / scratchy, for about 5min then it was more annoying than anything. My friend also has the same star, she said the same thing.
2. I’ve had mine since i was 18, im now nearly 22 and it looks exactly the same as what it did when i got it. If you take good care of it and keep it out of the sun it won’t fade quickly, maybe 10 years down the line or something but not quick.
3. Mine cost ?20, most tattoo shops start at ?30. So you’ll have to ask around to get the best price.
4. Mine took 15 minutes ish. Yours? I reckon around 20-30.
Well for some the pain is soothing- peaceful. For others, its terrible. Just depends.
1. the pain, yeah it hurts. its like somewhere in the middle of drawing and digging a led pencil into your skin (i say that bc of the thin tip) but its standable, also the place of the tattoo really just depends. the thicker the skin the less hurt youll probably go through.
2. it might fade SOME. key word, MIGHT. i have a foot tattoo & its faded some but still looks black. i compare that to the hand because i wash it and get as much ware and tare as a hand.
3. different shops mean different prices
4. something small will be 10-30 minutes, just depends on the detail you want …anything is easy to trace but shading and detail will take longer, the artist youre with will be able to tell you all that before hand
I read that as ‘breathe in, exhale somewhere else’, it made me laugh until I realised that I’d got it wrong, now I don’t like it anymore, bad tattoos make me sad.
1. It’s dependent on the placement and your tolerance but generally it’s a scratchy sore pain, you’ll be fine. Some of mine have been incredibly enjoyable, others have had me biting on the back of my hand throughout.
2. As far as I’m aware tattoos on places like hands and feet fade faster.
3. Not a lot, most places/artists have a minimum charge, as something so small probably wouldn’t take long you’d probably not be paying much above the minimum.
4. See above.
dont get any.
